Every Picture Tells a Story
Writing Competion

Following the success of last year's writing competion, we are launching another one for 2012. Entrants must select a picture and write up to 500 words on one of the following:

A A short story or poem using an idea from the picture.
B What this picture means to me.

The closing date for entries in Thursday 5th April 2012

ALIS 2020

Following on from the 2009 Scottish Survey of Adult Literacies, in October 2010 the Scottish Government published a Literacy Action Plan to help deliver its vision to raise standards of literacy. This has been followed by Adult Literacies in Scotland 2020: Strategic Guidance which outlines more detailed plans to improve literacies capabilities of Scotland's adults over the next 10 year.

Highland Learner Journeys

This publication features the stories of over 20 individuals and groups engaged in adult literacy and numeracy activities in the Highlands. We hope that their experiences and challenges encountered along the way will be of interest to those considering a return to learning. Please contact us if you would like a copy.
