The Highland Adult Literacy initiative is managed by a sub-group of the Community Learning and Development Strategy Partnership formed to progress the Adult Literacy and Numeracy Stategic Plan. The aim is to increase the provision of tuition and support for the approximately one in five adults in Highland who, research shows, have problems with everyday literacy or numeracy.

Funding has been allocated to address this issue and partnership working allows us to expand the capacity of existing literacy provision as well as look at new ways of improving literacy skills by integrating literacy learning with other activities. We invite applications for funding from any group or organisation with an idea for a project that includes basic literacy or numeracy.

Please get in touch if you have any questions about our work or would like to find out about the funding opportunities available for adult literacy projects.
